Bees in the trap | Emily Bartelt & Bo Juel | Nature vs. Technology
Bee’s in the trap is a collaborative endeavor between Emily Bartelt & Bo Juel. This particular hive is number one of many more to come, and each hive created will depict an ongoing crisis in the world. Honey bee related or not, for us the hive stands as a platform for change and renewal. This particular sculpture “Bee’s in the trap” was created to look like a beautiful natural bee hive on the outside, but on the inside resembles a ticking time bomb. This is meant to represent the death of our much needed honey bees as well as the unfortunate explosion of genetically modified foods that haunt our communities. -

"Hey, Henry don't tell me what to do."
This vessel is my way of paying homage to the late and great Raymond Peitibon. For years Raymond’s controversial artwork graced the covers of many different black flag albums. This picture of a middle finger was a creation he made after Henry Rollin tried to tell Raymond how to do his job. This piece is a hand-blown vase that was sandblasted, and painted with ink. -
in all chaos is calculation
In all chaos, is calculation was a deconstruction book project I made in a 3 dimensional design class. When deconstructing my book I realized that it too was someone else’s vision of art. So I decided to build my art out of their art using found objects, metal and wood to create the tools of my craft, but covered in the words and appearance the book maker’s original thought. -
